PHILIPPINES Republic Act 9850 An act
declaring Arnis as a National Martial
Arts and Sports. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Republic Act
No. 9850, approved on 11 December 2009, defines the indigenous Filipino martial art of Arnis and declares it as the
"Philippine National Martial Art and Sport." The Act then orders the
Department of Education, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, and the Philippine Sports Commission to
promulgate the rules and regulations necessary to carry out its provisions.
The last PalarongPambansa 2012 at Lingayen
Pangasinan, 17 Regions participated in Arnis events both Elementary and
Secondary Division . The recent Philippine National Games PNG 2012 held in
Dumaguete City, Arnis events also participated by different Regions in Senior
Division. Arnis already accepted as a major sporting events in the Philippines.
As a Filipino we need to promote not only in sports Arnis but our indigenous
culture and arts of Arnis.
Arnis a Traditional Art of
defense and offence fighting techniques.An indigenous art of fighting in
Philippine archipelago.Arnis practitioner accepted that the art not limited on
stick alone, The traditional Arnis or Old
Filipino Martial arts is a
complete survival techniques, display of deferent fighting skills, bare hand,
lower kicks, grappling and locking, implies deferent bladed art of fighting techniques using short or
long weapons including throwing skills , the practitioner also studied body anatomy, practice of indigenous medicine
and rituals. The art of Arnis is an expression of Filipino Traditional Culture.
This coming festival is a breakthrough of complete old
Filipino Martial Arts, the re enactment of what the ancient Filipino expresses the art of
fighting using replica of bladed weapons with ethnic attire moves with the bet of endogenous
instrument perform by the expert Arnisadorin different region in the
Philippines National and International Champions.Arnisaccepted worldwide by
international practitioner of Martial Arts,gaining popularity to attract tourist in the Philippines. By holding “National Bladed Festival”
marking the Region a complete essence of Arnis both sports, combative, culture of arts and tradition that we can
handed down and give awareness to the
new generation.A festival with cultural bearing participated by different
regions in the Philippines , from Mountain Provence of Luzon to the island of
Mindanao. Each region have there story,
different practices and rituals .
The venue in Island of
Panay, at Camp Regulus the heart of Navarro farm, Barangay Progreso and Terra Verde Eco Farm & Resort, San Antonio, Ajuy Northern part of
Iloilo,Philippines. Some says that Panay Island is the
center of Arnis even before the time of Ten BurnianDatus who brought the bladed
weapons in the island and integrate the
skill to the native Negritos .
The Festival of Bladed will
be mark as yearly event in the
Philippine.

BLADED PRESENTATION
A Cultural Presentation and
competition of different Filipino art of
fighting using replica of bladed weapons represented by different regions
all over the country with ethnic attire and accompanied by live ethnic
music.
The concept came from Commissioner Jeff Tamayo of Philippine
Olympic Committee
(POC) a retired Col, during his
appearance in
Philippine National Game
2012 (PNG) at Dumaguete City. The
commissioner talked to Mr. Quiambao Arnis Philippines Board of
Director , Grand Master
Vic Sanchez and Master Regulus Navarro Jr.
of Traditional Philippine Arnis
Iloilo. According to the Commissioner wish
we have an event participated by different region expressing their
culture and tradition through handling of different replica of bladed
weapons “ National Bladed Festival ” and Master Navarro
took
the initiative to make the event
came true.

Bladed Competition/Presentation or Anyo in
Arnis;
* Individual category - the player must render offense and defense fighting
techniques using single or double weapons
,slashing, trusting, swinging, twirling and butting accompanied with footwork’s
offensive traditional form is allowed

* Two man presentation – the players can use any kind of weapons or

* Group Presentation- The member are not less than five, any
gender young and old includingmasters. The performer will render different
offence and defense movement using

* Masters’ Challenge – ( Not Competition ) each participant will render
not less than three (3)types of bladed weapons for the Masters’ and at
least seven (7 ) different weapons for
the Grand Masters’. ( Performer will receive Masters’ or Grand Masters’ recognition certificate signed by all Delegation head ,Officials and
Dignitaries ) The organizer will provide the weapons or you can bring your own
.
